House of Tara\nMakeup school was founded in 2004 by Nigeria\u2019s foremost Professional makeup\nartist, Tara Fela-Durotoye. She began by teaching one interested person. The\ncuriosity and desire for more in her students drove her to set up a comprehensive\nmakeup school that offers up-to-date education to aspiring makeup artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA candle loses nothing by lighting another\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The aim of the\nschool was to train and develop the next generation of makeup artists. At this\ntimethere were no makeup schools in Nigeria, Tara developed a detailed\nmakeup curriculum that has since shaped the beauty industry as we know it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Most of the industry\u2019s training then\nhappened informally through apprenticeships and internships that were often\nunpaid and all-but-inaccessible to people without inside connections and\nfinancial means. With so few doorways to the beauty industry and so many\ninterested young people, someone needed to bridge that gap and Tara\nFela-Durotoye did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The school opened its doors in a modest\nfacility in Victoria Island, Lagos and recruited its first set of students.
